Information regarding the Sasko 1st ‘A’ League Gala
The 1st SASKO ‘A’ League gala will take place on Friday 13th August and Saturday 14th August at the Newton Park Swimming Pool.
The Friday evening session will commence at 18:30 and the Saturday session will commence at 10:00.

SSA anounces Synchronised Swimming Team - 12th Fina World Cup
Swimming South Africa announces Synchronised Swimming Team to participate at the 12th FINA Synchronised Swimming World Cup, CHANGSHU, China.
Congratulations to the EP Synchro swimmers Kerry Beth Norden, Jessica Broughton and Moira Norden, (Judge) who have been selected to the team.
Well done and congratulations!!!! Keep the EP Flag flying high!!!

Eastern Province's Paul smashes 400m IM World Record
Law student Kevin Paul is a man on a mission. Already the owner of the world record in all breaststroke races in the SM 10 category, Paul smashed the 400m individual medley World record on his first attempt at the German Championships in Berlin on Thursday 17 June, 2010.
The Paralympic Gold Medalist in the 100m Breaststroke touched the wall in 4:53.23 – taking 2 seconds off the previous record of 4:56.24 which stood behind the name of Canada’s Benoit Huot.

Officials' Courses
Eastern Province Executive will be conducting a number of officials’ courses this season.
The provisional dates were forwarded to the Clubs recently. I can now confirm that the courses will be held at the Newton Park Committee Room (behind the Grand Stand).
The dates are as follows:

Le Clos retains Silver, Van Der Burgh claims Bronze
In 2009 Chad Le Clos made his name by winning Silver in the 400m individual medley in the Mare Nostrum in Barcelona. Tonight he repeated that feat by clocking 4:20.23 for the 8 lengths of the pool.
This after Cameron van der Burgh secured Bronze in the 50m Breaststroke with a time of 28.30sec bringing the Bronze Medal tally for South Africa to four. Olympic and World Championship 100m Breaststroke swimmer Kosuke Kitajima (a training partner of Van der Burgh) was rampant going under 28 second for the win, touching the wall in 27.96sec ahead of Dragos Agache of Romania (28.01).
